Catching cats with my head
I'm am about to describe a feat not for the faint of heart. I speak of the amazing death-defying, high jump cat! This stunt begins with a cat climbing up to a high platform(around 15 feet) and jumping fearlessly onto the shoulder of a trainer standing down below. Normally this is how this is done. Now, of course, I am the exception to the rule. I started learning high jump cat some weeks ago and whenever I would jump this particular cat, Rachel, she would always jump like a kamakaze lunatic right at my face but correct herself and end up on my shoulder. So I was practicing with her and she was preparing to jump. She came at me with claws outstretched, and unsurprisingly aimed at my face. Well imagine my surprise when she did not make the necessary adjustments and bonked head-to-head with me, slightly stupifying both of us. Needless to say, I now make sure my head is cocked waaay to the side so that I don't end up with a concussion or cat claws in my cranium.
On the subject of cats but otherwise unrelated, I recently mentioned to friends and family that I am thinking of getting a cat. It's so funny how the moment you mention this, suddenly people are throwing cats at you from every direction. They all mean well, but they always know someone who has 50+ kitties that need homes STAT. It's kind of depressing that cats are a dime a dozen. It's really very sad because so many get put to sleep at shelters everyday. So, if you know someone who knows someone who has a cat they're trying to get rid of, while I appreciate the thought, I most likely will be acquiring my cat from a high-kill shelter.

Shelter Skelter.
Your mention of 50+ kitties immediately made me think of the crazy cat woman from the Simpsons. I like the one part of that one episode where they travel through time to see people when they were younger.
For her, I think she said something like "Now that I've graduated Harvard law, I decided to get a cat. I like him so much, I'm thinking of getting another one." Then flash-forward to crazy cat woman yelping and throwing cats around.
Hilarious.
I want a cat too. Someday. *Shakes fist*
(Isn't it funny that we all are interested in cats, even though we never had one or even had contact with many growing up? ... Weeeiiirrrdd...)
