Headache

I have a headache. Don't know why exactly. It probably has something to do with staring at a computer screen and squinting. What is the best cure for a headache? Me personally, I prefer to sleep off headaches but I can't really sleep it off at work. Well...no.

Cruisin in less than 2 days. Sweet.

Ponderous

Almost turkey day. I do feel bad for turkeys. I think I eat more turkey than most people because I don't eat red meat. Poor turkey. Is it possible to go "cold turkey" from eating turkey?

Fine, don't read me

I was just about to announce the secrets of the universe but I guess it will just have to stay deep within my cerebellum for a later date.

Sweet Victory

I returned the internet shoes. Went to Kohls. Bought a pair of New Balances and took them home. The left one didn't fit and they were the same size. Brought them back and got another pair of New Balances(see picture). They fit.

I'm tapped out.

The saga of the running shoes continues...

I have been told that my newest internet ordered running shoes are waiting for me at home. Cross your fingers that they fit or else Tina is going to throw them into the ocean. Or maybe just return them.

Mardi

I have to work on Veterans Day. I know I'm not a veteran but come on!! Throw me a friggin' bone here! This morning I called work and someone answered and I was like "D'oh!"

So here I am. At work. Working.

Tina Turner in concert!

This lady is the epitome of age defying. She kept up with her twenty-something back up dancers and looked amazing. WOW. I hope I look that good when I'm 68. :)

I bought a shirt that says "TINA" in big gold letters.

Buying shoes online and other such nonsense

Since becoming a runner, I have put major time and effort into finding the ever-elusive perfect pair of running shoes. After having a gait analysis at The Running Zone I was told that I was a pronator and that I needed to procure a pair of neutral running shoes to cushion impact and keep me aligned. While I was in the store I tried on several pairs of shoes. Now I am not the easiest shoe buyer to begin with what with the genetically inherited wideness factor, but I give it the old college try because, um, according to society I have to wear shoes. So I buy this pair of Adidas's from this really nice saleswoman and I go home to try them out. I run in them a couple of times but don't love them and think they may be a bit on the tight side, so I decide to take them back. This is where it gets interesting. The same woman who sold me the shoes was in there and she didn't even acknowledge my presence. I returned the shoes to this young kid who had no idea how to do a return so she had to come over and assist. She was a bit on the kranky side, but I thought, Hey, everybody has a bad day so whatever. So I leave because I don't have time to try on more shoes at the moment but I decide to come back in a few days. When I return the same women is there and she is a total b*tch(it makes me feel less offensive when I do the little * thing). She acted like she couldn't be bothered with helping me and she was so impatient I almost wanted to chuck the shoes she was bringing me at her head. So mean and nasty. I figured it out that she must work on commission and she probably wasn't happy that I returned an expensive pair of shoes that she helped me buy. Well guess what? Your store policy let's people try out shoes for 2 weeks(or maybe even longer, I can't remember) and they're allowed to run in them and test them to make sure they cut it. My shoes didn't cut it. Needless to say I did not buy another pair from Ms. Jekyll/Misses Hyde. Biotch.

After all of the Running Zone madness I decided to go to Sports Authority and just buy my shoes there(after wandering around every shoe store in the mall to no avail) and this sales guy came up to me in the shoe aisle while I was wearing 2 different shoes and going insane with indecision. He actually helped me though, because he said, which one feels better and I said "The new balance" and he said "then get the new balance". Genius. I got the New Balance, and returned them the next week.

Now, I know this is starting to sound like I'm goldilocks and every shoe is "too small" or "to big" or "not cushiony enough" but I want to have my knees for a long time and I think it's important that I like my running shoes, DAMMIT.

My next idea was to venture online, which is always a good idea when you have a hard time finding shoes that fit because you have the most odd feet on the planet(apparently). I ordered this one really cute pair of Asics, they shipped out next day and of course were too small. So I ordered the next size up and they arrived and were no better. They still squeezed in all the wrong places.Sweet mother of pearl.

Now, today, I hope I have found the pair I was meant to have. They are Adidas and they should be arriving in the mail next week. I will keep you updated.

Wow this is the most boring journal entry of my life. I'm sorry.
