Tina-land news

Much has happened to me since my previous blogging. Let's start at the beginning. I gave two weeks notice at my barks-a-lot job and am simultaneously starting training at this new company we'll just call "Willards." It's been kind of hectic around here lately but the job transition has been smoothed over nicely with the addition of a 2005 Nissan Sentra in midnight blue. There's nothing like the feeling of knowing that your vehicle will get you from point A to point B.

I also scored tix to a very popular talk show in the area which we will call "Hellen." I'll hopefully be on tv in some way, shape or form next week. YAHOO!!!

Girls Night Out

I am awfully glad I participated in this event. I usually skip these outings because I'm not a drinker and it's a little out of my element. Well tonight, I decided to just go and not worry about it and I went to this pasta restaurant with about 12 other girls and ended up having a really good time exchanging funny stories and memories from the past. Most of the memories were from previous shows we had all been a part of and one in particular keeps haunting me to this day. Actually I really don't care when it's brought up but I think it's funny that 6 years after it happened it's still being talked about. It's about me and it includes me falling down the stairs during a performance of Anything Goes. Well, apparently, that's not the most entertaining part of the story. No. It's the fact that after about 15 seconds of pin-drop silence I got up and curtsied. The great part was that the curtsy totally went with the whole ditsy aspect of the character. I think at the time though, I had no idea what I was doing. I just know that I fell down after I had tried to grab a railing to stabilize myself because the railing itself was not stable. I almost took out two other people on the way down, and it felt like I was sitting on the ground in shock for what seemed like an eternity before I finally got up and did the only thing I could think of. Now when you ask witnesses they say that everything happened really fast and I was up and grinning like an idiot before you had much time to think aout anything. Well, I like when other people tell the story because they mke me look good, or better than I had imagined it went. Ahhh, the theatre!

Wednesday

I can't really get into Lost lately. I was such a fan of the show in the beginning, but I'm on to their game now. Every week, I hope all the questions from the previous episode are going to be answered, and every week they they add new questions and somehow avoid giving adequate answers to the old ones. I have last week's episode taped and I'm thinking I might tape tonight's show too. Plus who really wants to stay up til 10pm to watch it when it's a weeknight and I have to be at work at 6am. I don't know, man. I don't know.

So career thoughts are processing in my head. Anyone who knows me has heard of my epic job plight. I'm working on a plan that is yet to be revealed for fear of jinxing it. More news later...

School

I signed up for an 8 hour computer class today at BCC. What was I thinking? I guess because I've been applying for soooo many office type jobs lately it would be good to brush up on my microsoft applications. I just hope I'm not bored out of my mind. It's Excel mostly, which I should have picked up in college but not enough to feel proficient. Watch me get there and already know how to do everything, which is the hunch I'm getting. Oh well. Back to school, baby!

On another note, I went for a really great interview yesterday with this advertising company. They want me to come back Friday and go on a promotional outing with them and then they'll chat about how I did and make me an offer so cross your fingers for me!!!

I'm back

Well technically I never went anywhere but I'm back to the blogging world.

So I watched Zodiac last night. I thought it was an entertaining movie but I'm sure by the end of it you could see smoke coming out of my ears because I was trying to process the enormous amount of information that was being thrown out there. Now I got the plot and I understand how they found the killer, just all of the extraneous material was a bit much. I guess the purpose was to show how mentally exhausting it can be to work on a murder/whodunnit case. It was all very interesting but I think I would talk myself in circles and not remember the ground I had already covered. Anyway, I'll just say bravo, Mr Graysmith, bravo indeed.
